Researchers claimed they had achieved WiFi at the lightning fast speed of 42.8Gbit per second which over 100times faster than any WiFi connectivity which exist on the planet. This wireless network is based on harmless infrared rays.

Your Internet 100 Times Faster

Most people have WiFi connectivity at home and if you have best WiFi system available you won’t be able to achieve more than 300Mbits per second speed at all. However, researchers claimed they had achieved WiFi at lightning speed which is 42.8Gbits per second which is equivalent to 5.35GBps means a file of 5.35GB will be downloaded in one second.

Well, that speed is almost 100 times faster than any existing WiFi connectivity. The researchers from the Eindhoven University of Technology in Netherland came up with an extraordinary idea to beat slow WiFi speed.

This wireless network is based on harmless infrared rays. The WiFi system not only has a huge capacity- more than 40 Gigabits per second but also there is no need to share since every device will get its ray of light.

According to researchers, the system is very straightforward and cheap to set up. The wireless data comes from a few central “Light Antennas,” for instance, mounted on the ceiling, which can very accurately direct the rays of light supplied by an optical fiber.

Researchers said that they have so far used the light rays only to download and the uploads are still done using radio signals. So the system doesn’t require any moving parts, which makes it maintenance-free and needs no power and the antennas contain a pair of gratings that helps to radiate light rays to different wavelengths at different angles.

Researchers claimed, “If you walk around as a user and your smartphone or tablet moves out of the light antenna’s line of sight, then another light antenna takes over.”
