Despite miscellaneous taxes like the latest WHT and GST on the internet services in Pakistan, the 3G & 4G services are emerging as a powerful commodity for the people as indicated by the latest statistics that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released.
The report claims that 3G & 4G subscribers in Pakistan have crossed 14.61 million mark by the end of July 2015 and hence about to hit 15 million milestone for the very first time.
Continuing the tradition of several months, Telenor, this time again tops the list of having the highest number of 4.69 million 3G subscribers.
With 3.965 million 3G subscribers by the end of July 2015, Mobilink is holding the second position while Zong and Ufone are at 3rd and 4th positions with 3.09 million and 2.61 million subscribers of the same service respectively.
Interestingly, this time, Zong has surpassed Warid Telecom by securing 13 lac 4G LTE subscribers while the later one is now shifted to second position with a bit less 12 lac LTE subscribers.
On the whole, 3G & 4G services have a fairly dominating chunk of contribution in spreading the broadband services to a sum of 18 million population collectively.
