3G and 4G subscribers of Pakistan has reached 15.75 million with slowest growth rate in recent months, it is mainly due to new taxes on internet services and inactive behavior of Telecom operators towards expansion of 3G and 4G services.
During August 2015, 1.15 million 3G/4G users become Zong and Telenor’s subscribers.
The growth rate of 3G subscribers is slow down because of the internet taxes applied on the internet by Government. Punjab which has more than 60% shares of all cellular companies, and Government of Punjab imposed 19% taxes on the internet.
3G and 4G subscribers were increasing rapidly during 2014, but speed was slowed down due to SIM verification process, when telecom operators forget about commercial services and focused on SIM re-verification process.
