Gaming laptops are as much a contest of engineering bravado as they are an attempt at portability and practicality. Meet the case in point: Acer’s new Predator 21 X gaming laptop. Its components are excessive, and it is the first ever such machine with a curved display — a 21-inch, 2560 x 1080 resolution IPS display to be exact. It was announced last year at IFA but details were not revealed Acer announced the price today at CES 2017 and they say it will be available in stores in February.
The Predator 21 X is hideous with a rough black and silver edges and blue dragon stock graphic (customizable) slapped above the keyboard. It is quite similar to military grade laptops you see in action movies. But, Offcourse you are not buying a $9000 laptop just because of its looks or shape. You would definitely expect extreme specification for such high price tag device with a weight of 17.6 pounds.
weight of 17.6 pounds
As in you could buy nine perfectly good laptops for the same price as one Acer Predator 21-X.
The Predator 21 X will feature two GeForce GTX 1080 X graphic cards linked with the Nvidia’s SLI tech powered by Intel Kaby Lake i7-7820HK processor with four DDR4 slots and 64GB of RAM. It will also have 512GB SSD for speedy transfers and 2TB of SATA Drive.
There is Tobii eye-tracking built-in with a mechanical keyboard with customizable backlight option and a numeric keypad which flips over to transform into a touchpad and there are four speakers and two subwoofers to deliver quality sound experience along with five cooling fans for the beast.
it starts out at $9000
And because it starts out at $9000 that means you’re going to need to pay even more for storage besides one SSD drive and one 7200rpm hard drive. The Predator X-21 can be configured with up to 4 SSDs in a RAID 0 configuration. That means programs would load almost instantaneously.
