It is a great time to be a gamer or to become a fan of PC gaming hardware. Desktops are getting old and flying off their shelves. Virtual Reality is becoming popular these days and companies like Nvidia and AMD are building new hardware that makes laptop compatible with Virtual Reality HeadSets. However, there are not much of VR supported laptops available yet.
Alienware is a venture of Dell to build gaming laptop for gamers which are high performing notebooks, Dell announced the Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 both are having current generation Intel processors and Nvidia’s new 10-series GPUs GeForce GTX 1080. The GeForce GTX 1080 gives you amazing speed and power efficiency. These GPU support Virtual Reality. GTX 1080 is build using Pascal architecture and has frame buffer of 8 GB GDDR5X with memory speed of 10GB per second, isn’t that amazing?
Design
That certainly means that Alienware 15 and Alienware 17 both are ready for the Oculus Rift or even HTC Vive, the new design is updated with thinner body and inset hinge which gives the fans and vents more room to work efficiently, there is an optional eye-tracking from company named Tobii, in 17-inch version of Alienware 15 and 17.
If you look at the design closely you will notice one important change. The Alienware logo, which was not touched by the company in past 20years has gotten a makeover and the iconic alien head is just a hair similar and more streamlined, which the Alienware name is now written in lighter front for a more modern look.
