For every Android lover out there, the day surely feels no less than Christmas Eve as Android’s latest OS starts rolling out today to Android devices. According to the Official Google Blog posted on Monday, August 22nd, 2016, the Nexus devices will be the first to get the OTA update. However, if you don’t own Nexus device, you might have to wait a few weeks or maybe even months depending on your Device Provider, Carrier, and Location.

Unlike other Android OS versions that Google has released previously, Nougat was aimed to be more ‘People Friendly’. What this means is more productivity, faster transitions, and an overall better experience. The developer preview for Android N named as Nougat in June 2016 had been available since March 2016. According to Google, this made it easier for app developers around the world to shift their applications onto the new platform.

But hey, the question that tantalizes everyone’s taste buds for the new flavor of Android is, “How will Nougat be any different from the previous versions?” and well, we’ve got the answer. Google aims to make this version a success by fixing everything that was missing in Android Marshmallow. The first change that Google brings to the table is making the Nougat more and more personal for the users. Emojis are the biggest highlight for users that are more expressive than others. With over 1500 emojis including 72 that are newly added, it surely is a treat for people that love to chat and express a lot. The quick settings menu now gets even more personal as you have the ability to add and arrange tiles in the quick settings menu. Google has also introduced a new Multi-Locale Support system that detects your locality and provides you the option of search results in your native language. This certainly proves that Google wants to make Android available to everyone in any region in the world.

If productivity is what you’re looking for, then you better fasten your seat belts as Google provides you with three new insane features. Starting off with the Multi-Window Feature that provides you the feature of running two applications side-by-side on the same screen. The user will have the ability to resize both windows by simply dragging the divider. Direct Reply comes off next on the list that allows you to reply directly to your notifications straight from the notifications center without having to switch windows constantly. That’s right! Just click, type and reply. And last but not the least, the Quick Switch feature that allows you to tap and switch between two of your most recent applications in a breeze.

Android Nougat also turns out to be battery-friendly as the Doze feature just got improved. What this means is a better battery life for your device with hibernation options for when you’re not using the phone. In addition to that, VulkanTM has also become a part of Android 7.0. So, the users will also be getting a great gaming and multimedia experience.

As stated by Google, The Nexus 6P, Nexus 5x, Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 will be the some of the first handhelds that will be getting the Over-The-Air updates over the course of next few days or maybe even weeks. From what we’ve grasped with all the new features, Nougat is going to be extremely tasty!
