Yes, you read right. Apple announced on Thursday that it will fix iPhone 6 Plus phone’s certain issues for $149, a significant discount of $180 service charges which company had been charging earlier.
Apple wrote in its service document:
“Apple has determined that some iPhone 6 Plus devices may exhibit display flickering or Multi-Touch issues after being dropped multiple times on a hard surface and then incurring further stress on the device.
“If your iPhone 6 Plus is exhibiting the symptoms noted above, is in working order, and the screen is not cracked or broken, Apple will repair your device for a service price of $149.”
Apple claims that it will reimburse customers the difference if they had already paid $329 but also claims that defect was not caused by the engineers but its due to falling of phones on hard surface multiple times.
Problem occurs in certain iPhone models- iPhone 6 plus particularly causes display flicker with gray bar on the top and becomes unresponsive. People were frustrated that company appeared to be aware about the issue but still charged $329 for out-of-warranty phones.
You can get your iPhone fixed for just $149 from Apple Retailer stores and service providers.
