Asus has tested the Android 12 on the Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip recently and has vowed; the Taiwanese tech company has launched the stable Android 12 update for both smartphones before the end of the year.

The firmware of the Zenfone 8 arrives with new version number 31.1004.0404.73 and the Zenfone 8 Flip with the 31.1004.0404.61. But that update only affected the sports model designation Zenfone 8 ZS590KS and the Zenfone 8 Flip with model code ZS672KS.

Moreover, your device must be running the latest Android 11 firmware deployed by Asus to upgrade to Android 12. The Zenfone 8 vanilla is WW-30.12.112.72, and for the Flip model, it is WW-30.13.35.8.

If you have the Zenfone 8/8 Flip running the latest version of Android 11, you should receive the update on your device in a week or two. And if you don’t want to wait, you have the option to manually flash the package on your smartphone. You can download it for the Zenfone 8 from here and for the Zenfone 8 Flip.

The following Asus smartphones in line to get the stable updates to Android 12 are ROG Phone 5, ROG Phone 5s, ROG Phone 3, and Zenfone 7. The latter two will get it in the first half of 2022, while the first two should receive it in the first quarter of 2022, i.e., between January and March.
