macOS Monterey Released – What’s New?
The new OS brings fantastic features and a few key improvements. The first one is SharePlay also went live on iOS and iPad OS; this allows users to listen to music and watch movies or seasons together over a Facetime call. Facetime call now has spatial audio, so the speaker’s voice comes from the other person’s direction on the screen.
Other FaceTime notable improvements include Voice Isolation to reduce background noise, Wide Spectrum for a full range of sound, and Portrait Mode that will work in Webex and Zoom. Apple also added grid-view for group calls on Facetime.
The new Universal Control feature is handy for a person who owns both Mac and iPad because it allows customers to have a single mouse and keyboard between both devices. The devices need to be side by side, and the OS automatically figures out when you move the mouse towards the edge of the screen which device you want to move to. AirPlay to Mac allows users with an iPhone or iPad to share content with a Mac-like you want an Apple TV.
A few features inspired by iOS 15 like Live Text and Visual Lookup and Live Text Detects text in photos like phone numbers, websites, addresses, and even more. The text can be searched, copied/pasted, and even interacted with. The visual look-up feature detects animals, arts, landmarks, plants, and other photos.
macOS Monterey now has Focus which is custom do not disturb profiles that a person can create as per their requirements to stop notifications and get only when they’re not busy.
Safari has also been updated with a new UI, improved tab management, and increased privacy protections.
