It is compatible with both PCs and Macs, and the keycaps can be swapped out for a more personalized look if desired, or you can give the recipient the option. In fact, I use it for day-to-day operations.

One of the most impressive products we saw this year was the Valve Steam Deck. Farhan Yousaf, Senior Editor, praised it as “one of the finest pieces of technology built in 2022” because of its ease of use, comfortable design, and impressive game emulation support. If you want to give a gaming enthusiast a gift, the Valve Steam Deck is a great option.
4. Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Kids 11th Gen
It turns out that the best option is a kid-friendly ebook reader. The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Kids (11th generation) is compact and lightweight, with the same screen size and quality as the regular Kindle but a two-year warranty (rather than one) and a price tag that is approximately $25 less (at the time of publication). The Kids Kindle lacks a few minor features found on the regular Kindle, but these aren’t required to enjoy everything Kindle offers. And Kindle has a lot to offer a reader, from Bluetooth for streaming audiobooks to library partnerships that allow you to check out and read ebooks to Amazon’s vast selection of books.
5. Roku Ultra
For a good reason, Roku’s fancy Ultra 4802R media streaming device has been our favorite for a few years now. Thanks to its quick processing and pleasant, intuitive user interface, it’s simple to settle in for a night of Netflix. If 4K/HDR streaming is your thing, you’ll be glad to know that this box has an ethernet cable input, as well as a great voice remote and headphones that plug right into it for private listening.

Even though it lacks Apple’s most recent CPU and has a dated design, the M1-based model is quite powerful, has outstanding battery life, and is now the least-priced way to enter the MacBook ecosystem without purchasing a used machine. This is a wonderful laptop if you don’t need a lot of processing power for things like photo or video editing or gaming.

For the gamer in your life who has yet to try virtual reality, the Oculus Quest 2 could be an excellent entry point. Not only is the Oculus Quest 2 one of the best virtual reality headsets we’ve tested, but it can also be ordered from some retailers in time for Christmas, which is more than can be said for many gaming consoles this year.
