    Big Announcement Tomorrow: 14 & 16-inch MacBook Pros with M2 ProApple-new-M2-chips

Tomorrow, Apple might show off its new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros. Several tech news sites, including Bloomberg, 9to5Mac, MacRumors, and Front Page Tech, TweakTown, say that Apple will announce a big new product tomorrow.

MacBook Pro fans eagerly await Apple’s next-gen unveiling

Apple’s new M2 chips, similar to the M1 chips in the current MacBooks but perform better, are said to be in the next-generation MacBook Pros. The M2 Max chip will have up to 12 CPU cores and 38 GPU cores, increasing the chip’s overall performance for users who want more speed.

Also, a Twitter user named Wade Penner posted an image of an unreleased MacBook Pro model A2779 that supports the new Wi-Fi 6GHz band. This would mean that these new MacBooks are compatible with Wi-Fi 6, giving users faster internet speeds, lower latency, and less congestion on a network.

9to5Mac says they wouldn’t be surprised if Apple quietly sent out a press release about the new MacBook Pros since the changes aren’t that big. Gruman says Apple will announce on Monday because of an embargo.

New M2 Pro and M2 Max Chip: Improvements

The new M2 Pro chip has a 10-core or 12-core CPU and performs up to 20% faster than its predecessor, the M1 Pro chip. The chip also includes a 19-core GPU with 30% more graphics performance and a 40% faster Neural Engine.

The M2 Max chip boosts performance by 20% over the M1 Max chip, with a 12-core CPU that includes eight high-performance and four high-efficiency cores. The new MacBook Pro also has a 38-core GPU, up to 6x faster than the fastest Intel-based MacBook Pro.

Both models include up to 96GB of unified memory when equipped with the M2 Max chip and Wi-Fi 6E and HDMI 2.1 support. There’s no design change, with a Liquid Retina XDR display, an all-black keyboard housing, and various ports and features. New Models will offer a battery life of up to 22 hours for 16-inch and 18 hours for the 14-inch models.

In other Apple news, there are rumors that the company will make its wireless chips for iPhones by 2025. This would cut out Broadcom and Qualcomm. Chipsets like these can connect to cellular networks, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. These might come out in late 2024 or early 2025.

We’ll have to wait until tomorrow to see what Apple shows off, but rumors say that the new MacBook Pros will be a big step up from the ones we have now.
