Make a Brochure Using Google Docs Step by Step Guide

Nowadays, brochures are widely used for promotion purposes. Many companies use it to present their new products, promotional offers, and discount offers. It is one of the natural and neat ways to get the attention of your customers. Brochures are now one of the best professional promotional tools. You can create your brochures with Microsoft Word. However, if you want to work online and collaborate with your colleagues about the flyers, Google Docs provides you with this facility for free. There are two ways you can create a Brochure with Google Docs: Using Built-in Templates and Without Using Built-in Templates. Let’s start with Using the Built-in Template.

Method#1: Make a Brochure Using Google Docs Using Built-in Template

If it’s your first time with brochures or you are merely in a hurry, then this option perfectly fits your situation. As there are plenty of templates available in Google Docs for Brochures. You can use any of them and start editing your way. Procedure to get a template is simple:

  1. Firstly log-in to your Google Drive Account or go to Google Docs and sign in.
  2. Now navigate to File> New> From template.
  3. After selecting this option, multiple templates will appear in the form for you. Search for Brochures.
  4. Now click on any of the templates that you want to use. It will appear in your Google Docs.
  5. Now you can edit this template and Place your image.
  6. For placing the image, right-click on the template image and select ‘Replace Image.’ This will let you upload your image.

Your Document will be ‘automatically saved‘ to your Google Drive. You can print directly, and you can also download it on your computer.

Method#2: Creating a Brochure Using Google Docs Without Using Built-in Template

If you have got plenty of time or you didn’t find any template useful, Google Docs provides the facility to Design your template. You must have some rough design of your template. First, you have to set up your page.

  1. Firstly log-in to your Google Drive Account or go to Google Docs and sign in.
  2. Now from the File menu, select Page Setup.
  3. In-Page setup option, select your page orientation to Landscape from Portrait.
  4. The next thing you might want to do is create a 3×2 table. For that, navigate to the Table menu and click ‘Insert Table.’
  5. Now again, navigate to the Table menu and go for table properties. For instance, set column width value to 3 and 6 for row height value.
  6. Now you are all set to type your text and images in it.

You can also get a double-side Brochure. The process is the same as described above, but while printing, you need to go to Print Diagonal with additional options. Now go to Preference and select Double-side Printing. This procedure requires your printer to be Duplex.
