For the development of the company, Careem has decided to add local Taxis on its platform being mapped in twin cities Rawalpindi and Islamabad. From today, the customers will be able to see a new “TAXI” car type as an option.
Additionally, the company has decided to add more than 25,000 taxis to its fleet and will ensure that they are available to end users.Omer Zabit
Omer Zabit, the General Manager of Careem in Islamabad, said:
“We want existing taxis to benefit from the ride-hailing revolution. This will increase the number of rides they get and reduce the wasteful kilometers spent looking for rides or the hours they spent waiting at taxi stands. For the customer, it brings ease of hailing to a familiar option at the absolute lowest cost. In line with our vision to improve and simplify the lives of people, we want to bring technological and financial inclusion in addition to enhanced earning for taxi drivers.”
Those customers who want to get a ride in Taxis are now able to book them through Careem instead of physically going out and search for one, and they would not have to deal with trip fares as calculated by state of the art metering system of Careem.
