Chinese rushed for Apple iPhone 13 pre-orders – already surpass 2020 mark

Chinese consumers have placed more than 2 million preorders for the new iPhone 13 lineup through JD.com on Apple’s official store. Last year the number of total pre-orders received was 1.5m for iPhone 12 series. After the decline of Huawei smartphones largest smartphone consumer market is moving towards iPhones.

iPhone 13, for the time being, is a high-end (possibly) device available in the market. Even though the competition is trying, after the US sanctions, it’s getting hard for Huawei to stay on track of innovation even though the P50 Pro without a double is offering an incredible camera setup.

“There isn’t a smartphone [in the market] which can be a threat to the iPhone 13 above the US$776 price range,” Counterpoint Research senior analyst Ethan Qi. “There isn’t a product that is as strong as the old Huawei Mate series.”

The dropping sales of Huawei are also a severe concern for the company to manage its portfolio and stay on the track of innovation.

The new iPhone 13 models were priced lower than the iPhone 12 line, which has surprised many Chinese consumers. Pricing for the latest models in China starts at 5,199 yuan for the iPhone 13 Mini, 5,999 yuan for the iPhone 13, and 7,999 yuan for the iPhone 13 Pro. That makes these devices about 300 yuan to 800 yuan cheaper than the corresponding models in the iPhone 12 line.
