Discord is a proprietary freeware VoIP application and digital distribution platform designed for video gaming communities, that specialises in text, image, video and audio communication between users in a chat channel.

This problem has three possible solutions:
- Audio Playback device not set to default.
- The Output device in discord not set to the right one.
- The “Use legacy Audio Subsystem” not selected.
Method-1: Audio Playback Device not set to Default
This solution can fix the problem as due to some software installation, or mistakenly the default playback device may be changed, and you would have encountered this problem of not able to hear the sound of your teammates.
Just follow the steps below to solve the issue.
Step 1: On the taskbar right-click the speaker icon and then click on “Sounds”.
Step 2: A window shown below will appear. Click on the Playback tab.
Step 3: Like in the scenario above there are two icons, Among them, the speaker is set to default while the sound should appear in the headphones so right-click on the headphone icon and set it to the default. Now a confirmation window will appear where you have to select ok.
Step 4: Check if the problem is solved and you can hear the sound otherwise try the Fix no.2.
Method-2: Output Device in Discord not set to the Right one
1. Open discord.
2. Click on the User settings in the bottom right corner area.
3. Now click on the left panel Voice and Video. In the Output, Device Section choose the desired output device and set the output volume to 100%.
If the problem is still not solved, then the Fix no.3 is your last hope.
Method-3: The “Use legacy Audio Subsystem” not selected
This solution most probably works if the issue occurred after the new discord update.
Follow the following steps:
1st Step: Open discord application.
2nd Step: Click on the User-Settings.
3rd Step: In the left panel, click on the Voice and Video option, Scroll down until you see the Audio Subsystem option. Now, select the legacy option.
4th Step: Now close the discord app
Hopefully, The problem now should have solved.
