Intel Coffee Lake-U 15W CPUs Detailed – Core i7-8650U, Core i7-8550U Performance and Specifications Unveiled in Multiple Leaks

Intel will be officially announcing their 8th Gen Coffee Lake processors today but there are multiple leaks before the announcement. While the desktop lineup has been caught up in rumors mill for a while we are now looking at notebook chips which will come under 15W TDP package.

Intel Coffee Lake-U Notebook Processors Detailed

There are four Coffee Lake-U series has been confirmed directly by Intel. These include Intel Core i5-8250U, Core i5-8350U, Core i7-8550U and Core i7-8650U. You as a customer will be looking for higher core counts in these 15W processors and all of these four processors feature 4 core and 8 threads.

That is a pretty nice jump when we compare it to Kaby Lake-U and the predecessors that came before it. Those processors feature just 2 core and 4 threads. What that means is the consumer can enjoy the higher performance with out sacrificing more power.

When it comes to Stock Keeping Unit Specific specs Core i7-6650U is faster with 4 cores and 8 threads and the Chip has a base clock speed of 1.90GHz and is said to boost up to 4.0GHz. This chip will feature 8MB of L3 cache which is twice of its predecessor and TDP will remain 15W however, CPU can automatically configure TDP when boosting to a higher frequency on single and also dual operational cores.

The chip will be a great deal for notebooks which have not seen core and drastic jump in CPU performance for a while. It will be priced at $393 US to $409 US. Specs of Processors are listed below.
