Google’s Pixel 6a is mentioned in promotional materials from the company

Google isn’t very good at keeping secrets; it simply isn’t. One of its promotional campaigns for the Pixel Superfans group specifically mentions the Pixel 6a, though it’s unclear whether it includes an illustration of it. Members of the exclusive group, you see, received promotional materials such as a Nest Audio and a coloring book of Google hardware.

According to the book’s table of contents, pages 6-7 will allow you to color in a Nest Thermostat and a Pixel 6a. Except for page 6, which appears to depict a Nest Hub, and page 7, which shows a Nest Audio. There is no Pixel 6a in sight.

The good thing is that you, too, can express your inner artist by coloring a virtual version of the book at colors.withgoogle.com. On one of the pages, you’ll see what appears to be a Pixel 6. The next page depicts the tall silhouette of the Nest Audio.

Remember that the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6a can be challenging to distinguish. According to the renderings, the 6a will resemble a smaller version of the 6. With the visor camera bump, two lenses on the left, and an LED flash on the right, even the dummy looks the same.

The Pixel 6a is expected to be launched in May, with a smaller 6.2″ OLED display (vs. 6.4″ on the Pixel 6), the same Tensor chipset, but a pair of 12 MP sensors with an older camera setup.
