How to get portrait mode effect on iPhone 7, 7Plus, 6, 6S and older iPhone devices
If you really into having portrait feature on your old iPhone device you can try the app for yourself; it is available on Apple Store for free. You don’t have to spend a penny on photos for bokeh effect like you see in Portrait Mode. Follow the steps
- Install the app
- Choose the picture you want to apply effect on; it is recommended to use an image with the prominent background
- Once you select the photo, the app itself will decide the outline of the subject. The Patch app will then automatically blur the background (However, the app does not carry out the selection part well, so you have to use the selection and erase tools to refine the range of the foreground.)
- Apply the effect and you are done.
Patch is a neat app to apply the Portrait Mode effect. It is available for older iPhone as well that does not feature the telephoto lens necessary for the effect to take place. So do check it out.
