How to Hide or Show Battery Percentage on macOS Big Sur

Our normal routine is to keep in check the battery percentage on laptops, especially long-lasting MacBooks, including Macbook Air and Macbook Pro. Earlier battery percentage used to be displayed at the notification bar, but when you upgrade from macOS Catalina to macOS BigSur, the battery indicator will be hidden. Don’t worry; there’s still an easy way to display battery icon; under System Preferences, users have to enable it.

Well, a battery level indicator is a must-have for almost all of us. We can check how much juice we’ve left and finish our work when on remote location. If you’re one of them, let me show you how you can display or hide battery percentage on macOS BigSur (macOS 11).

Hide/Show Battery Percentage in Menu Band and Control Center

    1. Launch System Preferences from Dock on your Mac (or click on the Apple menu icon at the top left corner and choose System Preferences).

    2. Now, click on Dock & Menu Bar.

    3. Scroll to the “Other Control Center Mod…” and then click on Battery.

    4. Now, check the Show in Menu Bar and Show Percentage box or Uncheck to Hide Battery Percentage

From now onwards, the battery percentage will appear in the Menu bar and Control Center on your Mac, or it will be hidden if you’ve chosen to do so.

Checking Battery Time Remaining Estimation in macOS Big Sur

While working on Mac, we often check the remaining power, and that could be done by just click on the Battery icon in the menu bar once you’ve enabled it after reading the aforementioned method.

I hope you’ve managed to enable Battery icon on your up-to-date version of macOS Big Sur. It is surely an impressive OS with a lot of improvements but a few apps are not working well; hopefully they’ll be fixed soon enough.
