Google Chrome is the most widely used internet browser on earth, with 55.5% of all internet users using it to browse websites. If you might be using Chrome for quite a time now, and you may not be aware of a fantastic feature similar to the one in Windows task manager known as a chrome task manager. In this tutorial, we are going to learn how we can access google chrome task manager. Proceed further if you are running Chrome on Chrome OS, Windows OS, Mac OS X, or macOS Sierra.

The multi-process architecture of Chrome allows it to run tabs as separate processes that means if you have four tabs open, it is running 4 processes to handle those tabs. Every process executes in its address space and independent of the main thread. If a page is broken or hung, there is no need to close entire Chrome; that’s where the chrome task manager comes in.

The Chrome Task Manager provides a view of Memory, CPU, and network usage of each tab and extensions open in Chrome. It allows you to kill the processes with a simple click of a mouse similar to the Windows task manager.   • Open Chrome
  • Click on the Chrome menu button at the top right corner represented by three dots.
  • Click on More tools form drop-down menu
  • Now Tap on Task manager from the list

  • Step 1: Click on Window in the Chrome menu\, located at the top of your screen.
  • Step 2: When the drop-down menu appears, select the option labeled Task Manager.

You can also open task manager in chrome only by a keyboard shortcut: For Windows (Shift+Esc), For Chrome OS (Search+Esc).

How to Use the Google Chrome Task Manager

Task Manager of Chrome should be popup now; you can check CPU, Memory, and network usage of each of your tab and plug-in running. If some process is causing an issue within your browser, you can click on its name and press “End Process” button to kill it.  As shown in the screenshot below
