This is my Huawei Mate 20 Pro detail review four months later than release date. This phone is a hardware powerhouse. It is an attribute showcase that is next-gen and a camera killer smartphone.

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro succeeds because it’s a phone you fall in love with. The entire package is superior, finish and slick, together with the phone holding back anything which you’re never left thinking that the grass might be greener, or what might have been.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Review

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is a triumph of unfettered ambition and technology experience, and if you were searching for a flagship phone in 2018, you’d have to be stark raving mad not to consider it.

This past year, Huawei introduced the Mate 10 Pro that had not just the new Kirin 970 chip but also a different layout from the Mate 9 which preceded it. The Mate 20 Pro continues that trend with another layout, a CPU and the camera setup everyone wants wide angle and telephoto.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Review

Huawei has listened to our wishes, ditched the monochrome camera and replaced it with an ultra-wide angle color camera that means now you can go from a powerful 0.6x zoom right the way through into a 5x hybrid zoom.

With other features like the on-screen fingerprint sensor, 3D face scanning wireless charging, it is a tempting 2018 flagship.

Huawei Mate 20: Price & availability

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro is available from a variety of networks in the U.K., and it’s priced at $1,150.

As a result of problems that are political, Huawei phones are not available to purchase in the USA, so in case you would like a Mate 20 Pro, you will need to import one.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Design and Build Quality

The first thing you see when you choose the Huawei Mate 20 Pro from the box is that it seems very like Samsung’s summertime 2018 flagship.

The precision curved glass design is a stunner, with the curves of this 3D glass melding with the phone’s thin frame.

Huawei said that it felt it’s “built a design that’s iconic” in the advertising run-up into the Mate 20’s release and, as you can not say the layout is groundbreaking.

Mate 20 Pro Rear

The Mate 20 Pro feels heavier in hand than the S9 and thanks to its subtlety impressive hyper optical design that seems more superior.

Mate 20 Pro Dual Sim

Notch-lovers will be very happy to see that you receive an ultra-thin bezel on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. Which will help imbue the phone with a little dollop of Apple iPhone XS, while the clean finish, with just a bottom-mounted USB Type-C port and SIM card slot, in addition to the right-mounted volume rocker and colorized power button, breaking up the device’s lines?

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Camera

I adored Leica-made triple camera program on the Huawei P20, so had very high hopes for its collection of lenses installed on the Mate 20 Pro.

  • Main camera: 40Mp wide-angle, f/1.8
  • Telephoto: 8Mp, f/2.4 with OIS (effective 3x optical zoom)
  • Ultra-wide-angle camera: 20Mp, f/2.2

And after some significant testing of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s camera system (see pictures below) I can confirm it is among the very best available on the market.

Hardware-wise you get another triple lens hinges on the back of the Huawei Mate 20 Pro, using a 40MP f/1.8 wide-angle lens partnering a 20MP f/2.2 ultra wide-angle and 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens.

It has an impressive portrait mode and you will fall in love with it. Here are two photos taken with Mate 20 Pro’s Portrait mode.

To get a flavor of the comprehensive, rich-color photos take a look at the Mate 20 Pro picture gallery below, in addition to additional images farther down the feature.

Backing this up impressive camera hardware that is raw is an array of applications and service systems. The camera system on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro supports autofocus, laser focus, stage focus, contrast attention, and image stabilization, in addition to coming with innovative tone flash and, regarding the camera, 3D depth.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Software

There is so much to enjoy about the Huawei Mate 20 Pro — but the applications experience needs work.

It ditches the program drawer for a look of home displays crammed with programs.

Problems are not restricted to the UX design EMUI appears to limit. You act upon notifications on the lock screen and can not interact with, and I’d faithfully and problems with services.

Huawei has taken two of the most significant features of Pie and tweaked them. Digital Wellbeing is Digital Balance, and this enables you to set timers for programs, keep an eye on how long you are spending on your phone each day, and dim the colors.

Navigation gestures are here, functioning more like iOS similar to Google Pixel 3. I enjoy being able to swipe from a program to go home but Huawei’s execution of moving back requires work.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Fingerprint Sensor

You can’t find a fingerprint sensor on the back of Huawei’s Flagship device. Instead, it’s under the display panel. Setup of Fingerprint takes a little while but after setup it works really well.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro: Battery

Mate 20 Pro is backed by 4,200mAh battery. You will never face dying battery problem on Mate 20 Pro. After a full recharge i used it for almost 60 minutes (normal usage) and battery dropped to 99% only. After in-depth testing of this smartphone i can say it will last longer than any other phone available in market at the time of writing this article.

Mate 20 Pro Battery

It is surely a battery beast and you will really need to spend time to drain its power.
