Huawei’s flagship and affordable phones will get GPU Turbo

Huawei unveiled GPU Tubro along with Honor Play and confirmed that the older flagship and affordable mid-range smartphone will get this performance enhancing GPU Turbo.

GPU Turbo is a boost mode for the cores that increases performance by 60% while reducing the power use 30%. This mode is already present on the Honor 9i and will be coming to the number of other Huawei phones.

Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro, Honor View 10    – End of June

P20, P20 Pro, and Mate RS Porsche Design, Honor 10, MediaPad M5 Series – July

nova 3e, Enjoy 8 Plus, Enjoy 7S, Mate 10 Lite, Honor 9 Lite, Honor 7X  – August

Mate 9 Series – September

P10, P10 Plus, and P10 Lite, Honor 9, Honor 8 Pro –  October

Other – November and later

 

The Mode will be enabled via a hardware update, no additional hardware is required. The main concern is how? and why it was not available at the time of phone release.

The report says phones from late 2017 onward and even Mate 9 will get this feature.
