Instagram test visualizes hiding ‘Like’ counts from viewers

From the past few weeks, Facebook along with its other platforms are catching news headlines.

And, you might think that what actually has happened to the social media giant. This time, many users are reporting that they are not able to see how many likes a particular post has. Although, the app proclaims that:

“We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get. During this test, only the person who shares a post will see the total number of likes it gets.”

Obviously, these changes might be welcomed by some users but others might not appreciate the step taken by the company.

Although, the company proclaimed that it is just testing this new feature and most of the public might not observe it.

However, the social media platform did not hide the number of followers of a profile, which are used to estimate a popularity graph of a particular user.

The company didn’t even reveal about ranking factors of a particular post in the news feed. And it is expected that we might not be able to see “most liked post” on Instagram from now.
