Hang on for a minute, shouldn’t Apple name iPhone 7s to an upcoming smartphone? Well technically company may do so but next, iPhone is expected to have some major updates so the company could skip the iPhone 7s version and name it iPhone 8.

iPhone 8 Release Date – When will the new iPhone 8 come out?
It is a bit early to talk about the exact release date of iPhone 8. It is not even clear yet that new flagship of Apple is going to name as iPhone 8. However, we can assume the launch date of iPhone 8 using the launch dates of its predecessors.

It seems to be that name of Apple’s next flagship is confirmed. Apple employee referred device name as “iPhone 8” unprompted when speaking to Business Insider.
The Wall Street Journal says: “Apple plans bigger design changes for 2017, the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone. Those changes could include an edge-to-edge organic light-emitting diode, or OLED, screen and eliminating the home button by building the fingerprint sensor into the display, according to people familiar with the matter.
“At a meeting with an Apple executive, one of the company’s China-based engineers asked why this year’s model [the iPhone 7] lacked a major design change in keeping with Apple’s usual two-year cycle. The answer, one person at the meeting recalled, was that the new technology in the pipeline will take the time to implement. People familiar with the matter said some features that Apple hopes to integrate into iPhones, such as curved screens, weren’t ready for this year’s models,” it added.

Jony Ive wanted to introduce an iPhone which resembles a single sheet of glass from a long time and the 2017 anniversary iPhone could be the one with a single sheet of glass.
Patently Apple has pointed out the firm has filed and been granted patents which may be used in iPhone 2017 model. The patent suggests a curved-glass design and the sides of the phone could be used for virtual active buttons.
There were also some rumors we heard about the iPhone 7’s screen that never made it to fruition. It’s possible that they could see daylight with the iPhone 8.

Bloomberg in a report mentioned that iPhone 8 will have no home button and Apple is making these changes to make next iPhone sleeker and it is the part of the major redesign.
These rumors seemed pretty far-fetched, to begin with, but it might just happen. Sonavation recently announced that it found a way to insert ultrasonic biometric sensors underneath a Gorilla Glass display, with it still being able to read a users fingerprints.
