Lenovo Z5 arrives with Snapdragon 636 and a notch

The Lenovo Z5 is officially launched in China. The phone didn’t live up the expectations of true bezel-less joy.

Under the Hood

The device is powered by Snapdragon 636 chipset. The processor has eight Kryo 260 cores, clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU. 6GB of RAM with 64GB / 128GB native storage. The 4TB rumor appeared to be a separate announcement.

The phone adopted controversial notch on the top of the 6.2-inch screen with 19:9 ratio. Lenovo followed “every with AI” and now the dual camera is 16MP and 8MP with AI capabilities, on the front of the screen you will find the 8MP selfie camera is in the cut-out at the top with AI capabilities, bringing machine learning of the face shape.

The Z5 is powered by 3,300 mAh battery the supports 18W fast charging through a USB-C port. The phone also features ZUI 4.0, this new interface was previously seen in the ZUK smartphones. The phone runs Android Oreo 8.0, but VP Chang Cheng promised an update to Android P.

The Phone is offered in Black, Blue, and Aurora that shifts under different lighting. There are two memory flavors – the 6/64GB version goes for $202, while the 6GB/128GB will cost $280. The device will be available for sale in Chinese market from June 12 and will be available in global market.
