Today it is reported that Netflix has signed a two years contract with yet another show creator.

Apparently, the company has signed a contract with Alex Hirsch, known for the creation of famous mystery animated series “Gravity Falls” for Disney.

According to reports, Alex Hirsch will be developing a new animated series and new movies solely for Netflix.

However, Gravity Falls is not actually a typical cartoon for a kid with its supernatural and paranormal themes, Alex Hirsch will also develop shows that will target adults on this platform.

Cindy Holland, VP of Original Content for Netflix, said in a statement:

“Alex is an imaginative storyteller with new ideas who’s quickly developed a reputation as a fresh new voice in animation. We couldn’t be more excited to work with him as we continue expanding our adult animated slate.”

Recently, Netflix has been trying to deal with unique creators as well as with other companies for expanding its unique offerings to more people around the world.

Now it seems, that the company was not kidding about a statement of spending more money on placing original content on its platform.

Over the past few years, the company has signed Black-ish showrunner Kenya Barris, Glee producer Ryan Murphy, and Shonda Rhimes.

Netflix has acquired the comic book empire of Mark Millar with a plan to turn his work into various movies and shows.
