Realme 9i is going to be the first budget handset of 2022, as the handset manufacturers announced its Indian launch date on Thursday. This phone has debuted in Vietnam earlier this week and now will be launched in India on the 18th of January, 2022, according to the company’s local branch.Â
The handset will be officially launched on the 18th of January at 12:30 pm IST via a virtual launch event which can be live-streamed through the manufacturer’s social media handles on Facebook and Youtube.
As Realme 9i is going to be the successor to Realme 8i, it is expected to launch, costing a slightly higher price than the Realme 8i. Some rumors suggest that the device could launch for Rs. 15,000 in multiple storage variants.
Realme 9i comes with the Android 11 based Redmi UI 2.0 out of the box. The phone has a 6.6 inch IPS LCD with Full-HD+(2,412 x 1080 pixel), 401 PPI of pixel density, a peak brightness of 480 nits, and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Realme 9i is equipped with an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 processor, built on a 680 nm fabrication processor, coupled with Adreno 610 GPU, with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB storage. The phone offers a 50 MP triple-rear camera setup (including a 2 MP macro sensor and a 2 MP B&W lens) as a primary shooter and a 16 MP as a selfie-shooter. The handset contains a 5,000 mAh battery unit with 33W fast charging support.Â
