Oppo presented its MariSilicon NPU established mainly on the 6nm manufacturing course. Its primary purpose is to enhance the standard of images and movies and develop the characteristic set of its cameras.

The primary telephones to undertake will be the next-generation Discover X collection, which will be introduced in Q1 2022.

The MariSilicon X has an ISP, so Oppo will not be counting on the ISP discovered within the Snapdragon Eight Gen 1. It helps 20-bit, 120db dynamic vary in photos, real-time RAW processing in 4K movies.

Utilizing the NPU, an AI can apply completely different algorithms for noise discount, higher shade replica, HDR, improved element, dynamic vary, etc.

To put those numbers into a real-world scenario, Oppo says its MariSilicon X was able to process its AI noise reduction algorithm 20 times faster while using less than half the power of a Snapdragon 888-powered smartphone.

While one cherry-picked benchmark isn’t indicative of overall performance, it does show how Oppo’s vertical integration of its algorithms and custom silicon can work together to quickly process information while preserving battery life.
