Once again, Pakistan is going to take good steps to work on legislation to cover a medium for international payment gateways including Paypal and Alipay to enter in local markets of Pakistan.
Commerce Minister, Khurram Dastgir proclaimed that the government of Pakistan is working under the supervision of State Bank of Pakistan for streamlining the process which will allow international gateways to offer their services in Pakistan in near future.
While his visit to China with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Mr. Nawaz Sharif, Mr. Khurram Dastgir and PM Mr. Nawaz Sharif visited Alibaba’s headquarters, the Commerce Minister said that the government is on its way to digitize the economy of Pakistan and also said that he is hoping Paypal and other internaional payment gateways to enter Pakistan very soon.
However, it is not for the first time that a minister said that Paypal and other payment gateways to offer their services in Pakistan but still you can hope that international payment gateways might come to Pakistan this time.
It is to be informed that Pakistan has been ranked fourth in the world for having a good number of freelancer and due to no access to Paypal and other payment services, they use other and expensive means for getting paid by their clients.
Therefore, after the arrival of Paypal, several things will change and Pakistani freelancer will be able to get their funds for the work they perform for their clients.
Therefore, freelancers have been enjoining the government to make a way for Paypal for over 10 years, so that they will not face any problem until that period. We can only hope for the good results and good decisions.
