The Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunications, Syed Aminul Haque, stated that every effort had been made to improve technology access in small towns and cities. He also stated that within a year, the number of software technology parks will nearly double to 40.

“Currently, the country has 22 software technology parks, with the number expected to rise to 40 by December 2022. The expansion is primarily in second-tier cities and towns,” the minister remarked at the Rawalpindi inauguration of Amazon Software Technology Park.

He stated that secondary cities have received special attention in order to facilitate the growth of the country’s IT industry.
