PEMRA, Pakistan Electronic Media Authority, has ordered to ban Zong’s TVC, due to the complaints filed agains the objectionable scene as advertised by Zong.
Let us just recall the ad of Zong, in the advertisement, “Boom Boom” song in which a model was being hit by the cricket ball in between the legs
Previously, PEMRA has asked both companies, Zong and OPPO Mobile to edit their ads as soon as possible and eliminate the objectionable scenes from the ads, as PEMRA has received complaints about from public about ads.
After that, the authority had asked Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) not to advertise the banned TV ads till the amendments made in the TV ads.
Yesterday, the Authority notified that Zong didn’t amend the TV ads and kept airing the ad along with objectionable content and once again public filed complaints against the ad.
PEMRA asked PBA not publicize this TV ad again in any case. The authority said that any violations in the rules will result in severe action against the TV channels, who will advertise the banned ads.
