0 to 20% Charging in 8 Minutes

The 240W version of the Realme GT Neo 5 comes with a 4,600mAh battery and a 20V/12A charger, while the 150W version comes with a 5,000mAh battery and a 20V/8A charger. The company says that the 240W charger can charge the phone from 0% to 20% in just 80 seconds, from 0% to 50% in 4 minutes, and from 0% to 100% in less than 10 minutes.

Realme GT Neo 5 Price and Release Date

Currently, the Realme GT Neo 5 is only available in China. That means its global release is not yet announced. However, we can expect the phone to be available in a few other markets by March 2023’s end. The 240W 16GB/256GB version costs CNY3,199 ($470), and the 150W 8GB/256GB version costs CNY2,499 ($368).

With the release of the Realme GT Neo 5, the company raised the bar for fast charging by offering 240W charging on its flagship device.

The ability to charge your phone in less than 10 minutes is undoubtedly appealing to consumers. However, there are some essential factors to consider. For starters, the fast charging speeds may affect the battery’s health over time. The 240W phone, according to Realme, can withstand up to 1,600 charges while retaining 80% of its capacity, roughly equivalent to four years of use.

Second, the safety of high-speed charging must be considered. Charging a small battery at 240W generates a significant amount of heat, and phones have exploded as a result. We don’t know how the battery and charging at 240W will hold up, but time will tell.
