It’s been a few months since it was released, but the Moto G200 5G has finally arrived at our office, and it’s time to see what the top G-series phone has to offer.
The G200’s design is unremarkable – glass on the front, plastic on the frame and back – but it does appear more premium thanks to the metallic finish on the frame and matte back design. There are two noteworthy features here: the Snapdragon 888+, a significant upgrade over the SD870 in the Moto G100, and the 108MP primary camera on the back, which has a large 2.1m effective pixel size and supports up to 8K video capture.
Android 11 is used on the software front, with Moto’s My UX interface on top. If you connect the phone to any external monitor, you’ll get Moto’s Ready For desktop-like interface, which we’ll put to the test in the full review.
The screen on the G200 is 6.8-inches in size and is of the LCD variety. Compared to the G100’s dual cutouts, you get a much smoother 144Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution, HDR10 output, and a much more subtle single punch-hole cutout for the 16MP selfie cam.
The 5,000mAh battery with 33W charging should provide enough battery life. With a €450 price tag, the Motorola G200 5G comes with an enticing spec sheet.
