Meet Galaxy A8 2018, and Galaxy A8+ 2018 – Samsung’s new naming scheme hides it. After their fair share of leaks and rumors, the Samsung Galaxy A8 (2018) and Galaxy A8+ (2018) were officially announced on Tuesday.

The inherit the design and experience of Galaxy S8. Both of the smartphones have infinity displays with IP68-certified dust and water resistance screen. There are dual selfie camera setups for competition. The Models will be available in the market in early January 2018 and official pricing details are not yet provided by Samsung. An octa-core Exynos chipset with 2.2 GHz maximums, coupled with 4GB RAM (the A8+ has a 6GB RAM version with 64 GB storage as well)
On the front is Samsung’s first dual selfie camera – a 16MP + 8MP combo. The Live Focus feature lets you chose whether the background is in focus or blurred to a soft bokeh. The phone will seamlessly switch between the two front cameras to get the effect you need.
The main camera has been upgraded with a brighter f/1.7 aperture for the 16MP sensor. Digital stabilization was added for steadier videos while the Hyperlapse mode will help condense things to just the gist.
Also, the smartphones are the first in the Galaxy A series to support the company’s Gear VR headset. Both will come in four color options, namely, Black, Blue, Gold, and Orchid Grey – targeting millennials and young customers.
The A8 2018 has 5.6-inch screen while A8+ 2018 has a 6-inch screen. This put both on the side of Galaxy S8 screen in terms of 5.8-inch. These are new models of A series from last year’s A5 and A7 rather than Galaxy A8.
The premium Galaxy phones support Samsung Pay (with MST), and fast charging over USB-Type-C. The batteries are 3,000mAh and 3,500mAh respectively for A8 and A8+.
