Samsung has officially responded to the reviews of S9/S9+ phones with touchscreen problem, which owners have reported “dead sectors” in display areas.
Galaxy S9 has a ‘dead zone’ screen issue

Some Galaxy S9/S9+ handset has display defect that means touches aren’t working correctly. The issue raised by no of Reddit posts, and the official Samsung Forums and reported more in S9+.
The problem marks the only parts of the display, known as “dead sectors,” however this location varies from device to device.
These areas of the screen do not respond to any taps and swipes, and it breaks planned functionality when try to access more frequent location like notification area.
By increasing device sensitivity has been said to reduce this issue in some cases, and by making keyboard larger or moving display icons depending on where are these dead sectors.
If you suspect your Galaxy S9 device might be affected, it is best to contact Samsung to get a repair ( Software solution is not possible ) or replacement.
