Samsung has released a new security patch ahead of every other OEM for the third time in a row. The changelog for the April 2022 security patch has yet to be published, but Samsung is already distributing this update ahead of schedule, as it usually does. Last week, the Galaxy S22 was the first to receive the latest patch, and the Galaxy S21 series is now catching up to the 2022 flagship models.

The Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra are now receiving a firmware update that includes the April 2022 security patch. The most recent update is identified by the firmware number G99xxXXS4CVCG. It is now available in Germany for the Galaxy S21 5G trio (SM-G99xB).

Customers with Galaxy S21 phones in markets where the new update is available can begin the update process by opening the Settings app on their phones, tapping Software update, followed by Download and install. If this does not activate the update, you must wait for Samsung to reach your market and/or device. Alternatively, eligible Galaxy S21 users can download the new update from our website’s firmware section and manually install it using Samsung’s official Odin tool. Simply ensure that you download the correct firmware version for your device and region.
