Seagate wants to make you a 16TB hard drive

It does not matter that how much free space is your hard drive having because it never appears to be enough for you. For the applications like iTunes movies and photos require a large amount of space to store.

keeping in view storage shortage problem Seagate was trying to develop a new 16 TB hard disk and the company has decided to release it in the upcoming year.

During the earning conference call, the company announced its proposal. In the conference, the company said that it plans to increase the size of its standard mechanical 3.5-inch SATA disk drives in the next year or so.

That means, at the end of the next year the 16TB hard disk might be launch. The company also make the 10Gb and 12GB version for testing.

Most of the Laptops are coming with the solid-state drives (SSDs) at lower storage, Seagate CEO Steve Luczo said that there is a lot of demand for the previously designed spinning variety of hard disks, especially for the users who want more storage space on their computers.

In the previous year company unit sales decreased by 10 percent. The company CEO Luczo said:

“It’s probably going to be a growing market, because we see growth in all those applications that require high capacity,”
