SIGGRAPH 2022: OPPO to Showcase Ray Tracing, Heterogeneous ComputingOPPO-at-SIGGRAPH-2022

OPPO will attend SIGGRAPH 2022. OPPO will present its latest industry-leading innovations during the conference, including ray tracing, heterogeneous computing, AR, and digital people.

SIGGRAPH is the world’s leading annual interdisciplinary educational event for researchers and professionals in computer graphics and interactive techniques. The conference will be held in Vancouver, Canada, on August 8-11.

OPPO will showcase its latest ray tracing and heterogeneous computing advancements at SIGGRAPH 2022. OPPO has been a pioneer in the mobile phone industry, and its cutting-edge technology will impress attendees at the conference. Attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand how OPPO’s latest innovations can benefit their own work in the field of computer graphics and interactive techniques.

    OPPO Ray Tracing

OPPO showcased ray tracing plans at ODC 2021. OPPO will introduce Physray Engine 1.0 at SIGGRAPH 2022, enabling a new generation of visual experiences with global partners. The ColorOS Ray Tracing 3D Wallpaper, the world’s first mobile, real-time ray tracing system app, will get an upgrade in the OPPO App Store. OPPO and Tai Chi co-developed physics-powered wallpapers for astonishing effects.

OPPO will show off its Physray Engine 2.0 ray tracing technology. The new engine includes OPPO-exclusive ray tracing effects, a global rendering pipeline, and full path tracing. Soon, all coders will have these new skills. OPPO will also present War Zone, a massive action game setting built on Physray Engine 2.0, with full path tracing on mobile.

    OPPO Heterogeneous Computing System

OPPO has invested in heterogeneous computing to research software applications employing different cores. OPPO’s heterogeneous computing technology optimizes speed and power, allowing developers to construct quicker, more efficient programs. OPPO will exhibit gaming demos run on its heterogeneous computing system at SIGGRAPH 2022. This technology migrates all 2D rendering from the GPU to the DSP, decreasing power consumption and optimising system load. OPPO will also present a video format conversion tool based on its self-developed lightweight and efficient inference architecture.

    OPPO Digital Human

Hyper-realistic OPPO Digital Human technology. The technology’s lifelike appearance and personality are predicated on AI skills like semantic identification, feature recognition, voice synthesis, lip syncing, and dynamic expressions. The OPPO Digital Human can develop its intelligence through AI training, allowing it to one day fulfill human professions like customer service.

    OPPO AR Glass

OPPO AR Glass 2021 was launched during OPPO INNO Day 2020. Its split design makes it more comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Its innovative Birdbath optical solution boosts contrast by 53%, brightness uniformity by 98%, and pixels per degree by 40%, giving sharper and more polished images. OPPO AR Glass 2021 delivers the industry’s first end-to-end AR language translation function driven by patented computer vision technologies, supporting Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean.

Dr. Hongyu Sun, head of OPPO Seattle’s engineering team, says mobile graphics are about to take off. “Next-generation mobile hardware and rendering technologies will provide mobile visuals with incredible fidelity. We’d want to discuss our current work with SIGGRAPH audiences this year. I hope you appreciate our SIGGRAPH demos of ray tracing, heterogeneous computing, path tracing, AR glass, and physical rendering.
