Today, in a tweet, Twitter proclaimed that it is in progress of testing new labels that can be set on conversations threads.

Twitter’s latest test focuses on making conversations easier to follow

The new label named ” author, mention and follow” is yet another experiment by the company to make Twitter chat more conversational and easier to follow.

A few months ago, the social media platform had tested a label “original tweeter.”  The main objective of that label was to point out a person who has started a particular thread and also to reduces spam.

In March, a software engineer named Jane Manchun Wong was able to develop a new prototype “subscriber to the conversation” button.

That button allows users to follow a particular thread without even liking or replying the thread.

These new exciting features seem to be an update that contains both of those features.

However, this might come handy in preventing spam and can help in adding clarity to jumbled threads but apparently, users have named these labels as distracting and unnecessary.

Twitter has already planned to role out these labels, whether its users are satisfied or not. In its experimental app, the social media giant has also been testing new features containing color-coded and nested replies.
