Uber is finally launching its services in Islamabad and Rawalpindi, reported by officials.
The launch date of Uber in twin cities is set to be in this week of April. However, the Uber couldn’t finalize the launch date as they are planning and under process to finalize last minute things.
Once launched citizens of Islamabad and Rawalpindi will get the benefit of another Online Cab service like Careem in their city.
This development of Uber is going to be a competition for Careem which means the company will have to provide discounts and promotions.
Careem is working is Twin Cities from a few months now, However, the were only ride-hailing service available in the city the majority of discounts and promotions are never made to Islamabad. With the launch of Uber; Careem will have to provide offers which are currently available to customers of Lahore and Karachi.
Safee Shah, Uber’s chief in Pakistan also confirmed that their company is set to expand to maximum numbers of tier-1 and tier-2 cities before the end of this year.
He said that the Pakistani market is super receptive and the response that Uber received in this market is beyond their calculations and expectations.
“Our biggest challenge is to meet the demand”, he said.
“So for instance there are countries with 10 million population, that’s like one city in here,” explained Safee while telling us the potential that exists as well as the challenges of expanding operations in Pakistan.
Uber said that it has already established a good fleet for Islamabad and Rawalpindi and number of cars will only grow with time.
Uber is most likely to offer launch promotion in twin cities to beat the deals of Careem, but there are not enough details available on promotions
