After several rumours and leaks, Vivo has finally unveiled the successor to the Apex 2018 the Vivo Apex 2019 with an event in China.
The new concept smartphone from the company has different highlights, the first one being the lack of physical ports for wireless use, similar to the very recent Meizu Zero.
Vivo Apex 2019 Will Be First 5G Smartphone with No Ports
Not having vents makes sense for the Touch Sense technology for effortless use, and the Magport allows for the transport of information in addition to charging.
Second in the list of highlights is the much-talked-about 5G enablement, which makes it the business’s first-ever 5G smartphone.
The screen also doubles as speakers, as a result of the Body SoundCasting technologies which dismisses the need for speaker grille.
This past year, Vivo was one of the first tech companies to present the in-display fingerprint scanning technology. Now taking additional steps in the venture, Vivo has supplied the new Apex 2019 using the Full-display fingerprint scanning. This will allow users to unlock the device by touching virtually anywhere on the screen.
Concerning the specs, the Apex 2019 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chip, together with an enormous 12GB of RAM and 256GB of inbuilt storage.
While the camera configurations remain unidentified, the smartphone has two back cameras and front camera.
With the Apex 2018, Vivo introduced the pop-up camera for lesser bezels, and this season, it has eliminated the front camera for thinner bezels, marking the beginning of a new technology trend.
Vivo will be showcasing the Vivo Apex 2019 in the approaching MWC 2019 at Barcelona. However, there’s absolutely no word whether it’ll hit mass production.
While the Vivo Apex 2019 seems to be a drool-worthy smartphone using new technologies surrounding it, the notion of a no-selfie camera may not be as high as it appears.
