vivo, a leading brand in the smartphone industry, recently held the 2022 Vivo Visual Creator Short Film Awards, encouraging aspiring directors, university students, and other imaging enthusiasts to participate and showcase their skills in cinematography through the lens of a smartphone. The hashtags #vivoVisualCreator and #OurStoryRedefined were asked to be used when people posted their entries on social media sites. The contest received many submissions in various genres from across the regions. After much thought, five entries were chosen as winners of the global award, and six were chosen as winners of the regional award.
The global award winners included “Fluffy Ball” from China for the Global Best Film Award, “Ride Ahead” from Pakistan for the Global Best Story Award, “∞” from Vietnam for the Global Best Editing Award, “You are the Shine” from Vietnam for the Global Best Photography Award, and “The Smile of Mother” from Vietnam for the Global Best Creator Award. Each of these winners will receive a cash prize of $7,000, as well as additional prizes such as a vivo X80 smartphone, an award certificate, a professional review from the jury, and official promotion by vivo.
The regional award winners, which included “Demon de Laplace” for the Best Film of Taiwan and China, “See” for the Best Film of Vietnam, “The Drive” for the Best Film of Singapore, “Mustafa” for the Best Film of Pakistan, “Nature Discovered with vivo X80 Series” for the Best Film of Malaysia, and “The Shape of Wind” for the Best Film of Thailand, will each receive a cash prize of $3,000 and additional prizes.
