Vivo wasted no time when it came to new model launches. A few days ago, the company reported the Y33T as a stand-in for the Y33s and a device identical to the Y21T, which was revealed a little earlier. All these phones posted pictures of each other. We have another very equivalent device to add to the list – vivo Y21e.
Its 164.26 x 76.08 x 8.00mm, 182g plastic body looks very regular, from the camera island to the unique shape of the power button/fingerprint reader on the side of the device and teardrop-shaped selfie notch. It can be bought in the colors Midnight Blue or Diamond Glow.
In terms of specs, the Y21e borrows most things from its close siblings, including the Snapdragon 680 chipset. It’s paired with 3GB of RAM (plus 500MB of extended RAM) and 64GB of expandable storage. Its LCD screen is slightly smaller at 6.51 inches and with HD+ resolution, which is a notable distinction compared to its sibling.
You get a primary camera of 13 MP, f/2.2 aperture, and an additional 2 MP camera, f/2.4 aperture for the cameras. On the front – an 8-megapixel selfie, f / 1.8. The Y21e has a 5000mAh battery supporting 18W charging via the Type-C port. Other specs include a 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, OTG support, and dual nano-SIM cards with dual standby. It looks like you also get a physical accelerometer, optical sensor, proximity sensor, and compass, just with a virtual gyroscope. The Y21e runs the latest Funtouch OS 12 from vivo, although we can’t say if that’s higher than Android 12 or Android 11.
