Head on over to China in late July/early August and you can partake in country’s answer to Octoberfest, the Qingdao International Beer Festival. It’s a three-to-four-week-long celebration of the beverage the Chinese first brewed more than 5,000 years ago, and it looks like one heck of a good time.
Brewers and beer enthusiasts from all over the globe head to Shandong province to enjoy the festivities, and this year they were treated to a special spectacle: an attempt to set the world record for most robots dancing simultaneously.
You might have noticed the disparity in the numbers between the title and that last paragraph. That’s because most of Ever Win’s robots were able to complete the dance-off. 33 of them, unfortunately, didn’t have what it took.
And, sure, it looks all cute in the video, but this is how it starts. Today these cheery little dudes are gyrating and making us smile, tomorrow they’re going all Funzo and impaling things on pencils and threatening our lives. Hide your Malibu Stacy dolls, people.
