WhatsApp Will Stop Working On These Smartphones

Obviously, you all may know about the widely used instant messaging app, WhatsApp. The news about this messaging app is that older smartphones are no more compatible with it.

Recently, it is reported that numerous Android, iOS and Windows phone will not be supporting WhatsApp.

According to reports, several phones having these operating system will not be able to install or use WhatsApp by December 31, 2019.

Meanwhile, phones who can support this messaging service will continue to receive news and improvement with the passage of time.

Therefore, the resources required by WhatsApp will also increase accordingly. While specifications of the smartphone will remain the same, therefore, it will create a mismatch.

It’s obvious that the life span of a particular smartphone and other mobile devices ends at a certain point.

Therefore, from that point onward those phones stop receiving system updates. Or they just lose support for various applications and services.

From December 31, 2019, the smartphone featuring Windows Operating System will not be able to install WhatsApp. But, if the instant messaging app is already installed on them, then it probably, some functions will stop working, thus, makes the smartphone virtually obsolete.

In a blog post, WhatsApp stated that

“They will no longer be able to use WhatsApp on all versions of the Windows Phone operating system as of December 31. As we no longer develop their applications for these systems, hence, some functions will no longer work at any time”

Moreover, smartphones with Android version 2.3.7 and iPhones with iOS7 will not support WhatsApp. Let us keep it simple, WhatsApp will no longer support the smartphones having operating systems listed below.
