According to the report, Xiaomi currently working on a Mi A1 successor. The rumors are based on new firmware files of the device.

Xiaomi Mi A1 sequel uncovered having a Snapdragon 660 chip

Codename “jasmine sprout” possibly being released as the Xiaomi Mi A2, just like the Xiaomi Mi A1 was codenamed” Tissot sprout”.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 would reportedly arrive with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset and powered by Android 8.1 Oreo.

Features same as Xiaomi Mi 6X, 6-inches Display Full HD+ (2160 x 1080), Snapdragon 660 SoC, 4 or 6GB of RAM and up to 128 GB storage, Dual 12MP + 20MP rear camera and 3010 mAh battery.

The report also highlighted some news about Xiaomi Redmi Android One device, codenamed “daisy sprout,” which is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chip.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jen couple of weeks ago hinted that the Redmi series would be getting its own Android One device.

There are several clues in the firmware files that support this theory, as mentioned the “_sprout” suffixes which is common in both Xiaomi Mi A1 and Xiaomi Mi A2.
