Huawei’s Mate X and Samsung’s Galaxy Fold were unveiled at MWC 2019 last month. These are foldable flagship devices from top 2 smartphone manufacturers with premium price tags. These foldable smartphones are expected to be released later the following year. The Samsung Galaxy Fold is to cost $1980 whereas Mate X of Huawei’s to cost around $2,600. These price tags clarify this smartphone as luxury items, however, Xiaomi’s foldable smartphone will cost $999 less than 1000 bucks.
Xiaomi’s foldable phone will cost half of Galaxy Fold, launch in Q2 2019
There are rumors about the name of this device few claims the name to be Mi Fold and others say Mi Flex. Mi Fold will be priced $999 in United State, €999 in Europe, 145,000 PKR in Pakistan and INR 74,999 in India. The smartphone is expected to be released between April and June. First, the devices will be introduced in China and later on in international markets maintaining the company’s flow of targeting.
Mi Fold (Mi Flex) will cost half of Galaxy Fold and Huawei’s Mate X, even it will be having OLED displays made by Visionox Technology. It is yet to be seen whether these displays will provide such detailed graphics on the screen like Samsung Fold and Mate X of Huawei.
That said, like the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, the Mi Fold/Flex will also be a flagship and will come with Snapdragon 855 SoC with up to 10 GB RAM. A video showing Mi Fold (Mi Flex) in action appeared online back in January. You can check it out below.
